The rain stick is a percussion instrument category idiophone prevalent among First Peoples but also among the shepherds in Chile, where it is called "cascades" for example. In Melanesia, it is called "talking stick" and as an hourglass, stopwatch and it allows time for each speaker during the flow of grain in it.
