Generic name in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the “Reed” refers Wind instruments of the woodwind family
compounds a conical or cylindrical tube with holes to change notes, and a single or double reed to create the sound.
During the Baroque and Classical periods, the torch refers more specifically a cylindrical bore instrument
and single reed, the chalemie or "former oboe" designating it an instrument of conical bore and a double reed.
"Reed" is the name given to the first clarinets that have kept the term to their low register. The origin of
the instrument presented is the south of Colombia and is named "Caliboo".
