The Donga is an underarm drum used by Tem and Konkomba for communication. It's a drum
double diaphragm shaped hourglass. The hollowed barrel is provided at both ends with a goat skin.
The two strapping systems that hold the skins on both sides are connected by a cotton rope system.
The instrumentalist places the drum under his arm (hence the name armpit drum) and modifies by pressure and relaxation,
the sound of the drum. A curved rod or fingers are used to strike the drum membrane.
A wide range of sounds also gives them the name of speaker drums
