The Portuguese guitar (in Portuguese of Portugal: guitarra portuguesa) is a musical instrument plucked string
which descends from the cittern and mandolin akin to the choro music used. It is the main instrument
soloists fado, but it also allows you to say to musicians from other schools or musical genre.
There are two models of Portuguese guitars: guitar Lisbon and Coimbra guitar. It has twelve metal strings distributed in pairs.
The strings are placed on a movable bridge which transmits the vibrations to the table of the instrument slightly convex.
