The timple is a stringed musical instrument plucked typical of the Canary Islands. The form of a small guitar with four or five strings, depending on the region, with a sounding curved back (the hump). In the late twentieth century, appear as versions of timple six-string or more. The timple seems to be a specific evolution of baroque guitar, which was introduced to the islands during the Spanish conquest between 1402 and 1496 the Spanish brought the first strings in the archipelago. It seems to be the ancestor of tiple Latin America.
